Looks like all the Cinema 2.0 fuss that AMD has been blustering about with its new RV770-based GPUs is fully warranted. The benchmarks are in and AMD’s new $549 ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2 — what AMD calls the “world’s fastest graphics card” — is an out and out screamer, besting the best cooked up over at NVIDIA thanks to that RV770 GPU pair nuzzled up next to 2GB of GDDR5 memory. As noted by PC Perspective, the new champ, “is able to run away from NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 280 1GB card handily. Our various game tests proved this - Crysis, Call of Duty 4 and GRID showed big gains for AMD’s new card at resolutions 2,048 x 1,536 and 2,560 x 1,600,” though performance gains are less dramatic as resolutions drop to 1,600 x 1,200. Not that any self-respecting gamer would push so few pixels. CrossFireX performance was disappointing, however, as the systems didn’t scale well when going from 2 to 4 GPUs. In fact, Crysis seemed to barely notice the additional CrossFireX horsepower, something that should be corrected with future driver releases. Make no mistake though, as power-hungry, expensive, and hot-running as the new HD 4870 X2 may be, it’s a big day for AMD as it retakes the graphics crown from NVIDIA, as short-lived as this victory may be.

Last week opera mini 4.1 final was launched and this is the most bugless version of of Opera

mini. Opera Mini 4 had a whole bagfull of bugs in it like the same page reloading bug which

caused the same page to reload when you clicked a link on a web page. This bug has been

resolved a lot but it still appears sometimes still.

As is usually the case when you slap the latest and greatest silicon in a laptop, it’s going to best whatever came before. What’s surprising here is how thoroughly the Dell XPS M1730 with a Core 2 Extreme X9000 processor and dual GeForce 8800M GTX cards in SLI trounces the last generation of tech. The folks at ExtremeTech pitted the laptop against a hapless m9750 from Alienware, sporting the last generation of tech, and it handily bested it in every competition. CPU tests were heavily in the M1730’s favor, and GPU tests even more so. The only holdup is that new X9000 processor, and according to Dell a release is “imminent” — and if you’re shelling out $4480 for a laptop, it might as well be what ExtremeTech calls “the fastest notebook yet.

speed is much faster than GPRS and also EDGE on some service providers.Tata indicom charges 99Rs/month for using internet on phone.

signal quality is good and call quality is also good among the same same price range handsets.I found full signal strength

all the time even though the tower is 4KM away from my house
