MP7 phone makes MP3 feel totally insignificant

   Posted by: utsav

We’ve seen phones that push the boundaries of chintziness, but this newfangled MP7 phone really shows what humans are capable of when they’ve no motivation to assemble a decent product. Granted, most everything here is lost in translation, but the blatant “Blue tooth” logo on the front pretty much sets it up for disaster. Nevertheless, this GSM handset reportedly comes in silver or black and features a 320 x 240 touchscreen display, a 1.3-megapixel camera, built-in FM tuner and support for some form of mobile TV along with the elusive “MP7″ format. Best of all, this marvelous gem of handset engineering can be had for $599.90 (or a dozen easy payments of $59.99)

Huawei C2900i review…

   Posted by: utsav

                                                    05042008156.jpg

One of the latest offerings among handsets of Tata Indicom is the Huawei C2900i .
Its a very feature rich low end phone which packs in many features of mid range phones too.
Like high speed internet on the phone or Pc connectivity for surfing internet on PC
.This phone has a in built modem which is capable of speeds of upto 153.6kbps upload or download under CDMA 1x network .Its

100 Rs costlier than the C2900 which is the same phone without internet modem. So for 100Rs more c2900i is worth it.This phone

uses opera mini internet browser for surfing the internet and you can surf any site on it.The sad part is you can not

download anything on this phone but while surfing on the PC there is no such limitation.

Internet Connectivity

This phone has a in built modem which is capable of speeds of upto 153.6kbps upload or download under CDMA 1x network .Its

100 Rs(2.5$) costlier than the C2900 which is the same phone without internet modem. So for 100Rs more c2900i is worth it.This phone

uses opera mini internet browser for surfing the internet and you can surf any site on it.The sad part is you can not

download anything on this phone but while surfing on the PC there is no such limitation. It does not support javascript and

audio/video.Playback.Browsing speed and page rendering is simply awesome but the opera mini browser has some bugs which

causes the phone to restart if you are browsing heavy pages like pages full of images for a long time. But its very rare. The

speed is much faster than GPRS and also EDGE on some service providers.Tata indicom charges 99Rs/month for using internet on phone.

Signal Quality

signal quality is good and call quality is also good among the same same price range handsets.I found full signal strength

all the time even though the tower is 4KM away from my house

Phone display

the display is 128*128 64k colour CSTN display which is very great even the resolution is low and there will be no problem

for reading even the smallest text as the brightness is also great.

Other Features

FM with 20 stations storage.A stereo headset is provided with the phone for FM .The sound clarity is very good but the

earphones lack base.It can also record FM.
It has a voice recorder for voice recording in QCP format

Great Battery life. The phone battery lasted for 7 hours of continous internet surfing without any break. The standby time and

talktime is also good with 4hours+ of talktime and 4 days of standby time with 1 hour of internet browsing included.

The well known and respected iPhone hacker Nate True has discovered some very, very interesting information concerning Apple’s latest update, 1.1.3. According to Mr. True, the boys and girls in Cupertino have all but prepped the device’s OS for native applications, altering the functionality of SpringBoard to display additional apps, changing the ownership of applications to a unified “mobile” user, and moving the location of preferences to the accompanying non-root directory. Additionally, SpringBoard now boasts widget support via a class called SBWidgetApplication. All of these technical and seemingly minor details will apparently make it easier for developers to create new applications for the phone, though Nate says they’ll also break existing native apps in the process. All we ask is that developers get those NES and SNES emulators ported quickly and safely to the new system.

CDMA Nokia with EV-DO passes FCC

   Posted by: utsav

The Dark Age of Nokia’s CDMA relations may be finally drawing to a close. After a series of forgettable rebranded Pantechs (seriously Nokia, what the crap was up with that?), we were encouraged last year by the introduction of the rather low-end 2135 candybar, an honest-to-goodness Nokia that seemed to indicate Nokia / Qualcomm relations might — might be warming. This device features EV-DO data and Bluetooth, but that’s about all we can gather from the few FCC docs that aren’t protected by the confidentiality clause at the moment; we don’t know who it might be headed for, whether it runs S40 or S60, or any other juicy little bits of information that would make the Nokia faithful on Verizon and Sprint drool.

A nokia cdma network on nokia
phones
is faster than a gsm network. Unlike CDMA networks, GSM used in samsung
phones
, has wider coverage without roaming charges. The mobile phones which use CDMA have
greater advantage over GSM. Now when every house has at least a computer printer and scanner, every
person should have cell phones and pdas
for every purpose. The cell
phone importance
is pretty high since it allows greater efficiency
in the business. The hp printers
are also a must for organizations efficiency.

Nokia N96 hoooo laa laa

   Posted by: utsav

Judging by five mysterious images that surfaced over at Mobile-Review, it appears that Nokia’s N96 (the N95’s successor?) has indeed leaked out, and while no specifications are available, we can surmise that it’ll boast a 5-megapixel camera (with the obligatory Carl Zeiss lens), a dual LED flash and a sexy black motif. Peep the read link for more pictorial delight.
